Plata and Salud are trying to be professional crash pilots. They're faking plane crashes in the South American jungle. But the next job goes wrong. They actually do crash and face the intrigues of the unscrupulous Mr. Ears, who exploits people with his minions, in a village of diamond prospectors. Salud and Plata tell him the fight. They buy themselves an old, scrap-ready aircraft, make it fit for flight again and start to supply the diamond prospectors in the jungle also. Of course, Mr. Ears is not amused about that and lets the aircraft of them be destroyed by his henchmen. Of course, Salud and Plata don't like that and fight back in their own way. The German premiere of the film took place on March 7, 1973, in the presence of Bud Spencer and Terence Hill in the cinema Lichtburg in Essen. In Germany All the Way, Boys was awarded the Golden Screen for more than three million moviegoers. At the end almost 6.5 million viewers watched the film in German cinemas. The duo Spencer/Hill was able to confirm the commercial success of the two Trinity films and to position themselves outside the Western genre. All the Way, Boys was already the fourth, but also last collaboration of the duo with director Giuseppe Colizzi after God forgives... I don't!, Ace High and Boot Hill. The German version of the film is much longer than the Italian and international version (about 11 minutes). But this version is not uncut either, because the Italian version also contains scenes that never existed in Germany, despite the shorter running time. If you add them together, you get a PAL runtime of 109 minutes. In addition, there are still 51 seconds left on an old Hungarian VHS, which would give a theoretical total length of 110 minutes. Incidentally, the Italian film dictionary DCI states a length of 122 minutes for the film, which would be equivalent to 117 minutes in PAL. So it cannot be ruled out that there are other unknown scenes. The famous music for "All the way, Boys" was written by Guido and Maurizio De Angelis, who did their third work for a Spencer/Hill film after They still call me Trinity and Man of the East. For the first time in their career they sang the title song themselves. They were commissioned to write an English-language title song, which they did with Flying through the Air. After the song was finished, the brothers looked for an English band to sing the song, but couldn't find a good one. So they sang the song themselves and realized that it worked very well. For the release of the single they acquired a pseudonym. "Oliver Onions" was born and the brothers De Angelis had two successful careers, one as a composer of film music and one as a singing duo. The single release of the title song Flying through the Air stayed in the German charts for 31 weeks in 1973 and climbed to number 4. A German cover version of the song was created in the same year. The song was titled "Eine ganze Nacht" and was sung by Henner Hoier. Further cover versions of the song are also available from Guildo Horn (Käpt' n Horn, 2002) and Jürgen Drews (Flying through the Air, 2005). Bud Spencer is the co-author of the title song. The lyrics were written by Susan Duncan Smith. In addition to the single release, an LP with the complete soundtrack of the film was released in 1973. In 2012, the soundtrack was released in Italy by Beat Records for the first time on CD. This CD had 10 extra tracks. The original recording of Flying through the Air can be heard on all these publications. On all other samplers that contain the song, you hear a new recording of the song. During the shooting, Bud Spencer flew a lap alone with the biplane without permission and without previous flying hours and only returned to the ground with luck and after a typical crash landing. The producer was of course not enthusiastic, but Buds passion for flying was aroused and so he got his pilot's license shortly afterwards. Bud Spencer and Terence Hill fly seven different planes during the film. The machine in the beginning sequence is a Douglas DC-3. The plane they crash in the jungle is a "Consolidated PBY-6A Catalina". Augusto finally brings the two crash pilots back to town with a "Cessna 150". There they restore their own aircraft, a "Boeing-Stearman PT-17 Model 75". Later Bud flies back into town with the injured guy in a "De Havilland Canada DHC-2 Beaver Mk.1". After their plane is destroyed, they fly back to town with Matto in Mr. Ears' "Hawker Siddeley HS. 748". From there Plata uses a "Cessna 150A" to escape, with which both fly away after their little dispute. The rum with which Bud drank himself on the flight with the injured person during the storm, is a Colombian rum of the brand "Ron Viejo de Caldas". This rum is still produced and sold today. The film was shot in Colombia, more precisely in Cartagena, Barranquilla and Santa Marta. Some of the flying scenes were also created in Bogota and the surrounding area.
